![]() Breaks: I give myself small breaks every hour similar to what I would do at work. Many people get distracted with this and enter a viscous cycle of information gathering, seeking and spreading.ĥ. It is good to see all this at the end of the day. There is a tendency to look at the news and dozens of whatsapp forwards. Emails, News and Whatsapp: Avoid any email that has a tagline of COVID unless your project is on COVID 19. There is no need for a fancy office-like workspace. Workspace: I just use a desk/table, chair and connect my laptop. Keep unwanted activities (activities considered unwanted when we are working full time at office) for end of the day. My dad thinks, I should be wearing workwear. Shower at the same time that you would for a workday. Work ethic: The routine of work should not change. I would encourage everyone to sleep a bit more to help with the healing process.Ģ. The initial few days of working from home will be fun, nice and relaxing but as we sail through this lockdown, we will need to pay attention to our physical, professional and emotional/mental health commitments. I have to depend on emails, phone calls and other forms of internal communications when compared to walking over to my colleague or talking during a coffee break. These are times to spend good time with family.Īlthough I am able to get more tasks completed whilst working from home, I am missing the social connect with my colleagues. In these difficult times, the need of the hour is to maintain social distancing completely, good hygiene, work normally (working from home) and follow a good physical and mental diet. This prolonged closure is probably one of the first lockdowns ever faced by current generation. In India, the honorable Prime Minister has enforced a 21-day lockdown of the entire country barring the essential services. ![]() People have never been more desperate to be social than during the current "COVID times". As I write this article on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on our work and lives, the first thought is the quote by Aristotle that “Man is by nature a social animal”.
